Subjects Translated

All the following subjects and many others can be translated:

Insurance and reinsurance: policies, reinsurance treaty wordings, claim reports, survey reports…
Legal: laws, contracts, statements, certificates (marriage, birth, criminal record…)
Life sciences: clinical trial documentation…
Commercial: letters, reports…
General: press articles, press releases, correspondence…

Standard translations

In most cases, a complete translation of a document (or parts of a document) is required. Style, choice of words and phrasing will depend on the purpose of the translation (information, publication, promotion…).

Certified translations

Some translations require certification for official purposes, e.g. for passport applications. These translations are accompanied by a signed declaration bearing the seal of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI).

Back translations

Material translated by another translator is translated back into the original language to ensure accuracy, e.g. questionnaires for clinical trials.

Summarising

In some cases a complete translation is not required, and an abstract or summary will suffice.

Revision

Sometimes described as proofreading, this involves checking and editing a translation done by another translator.
